Some Basic ideas of Metaverse and How it works?

A metaverse is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection. In futurism and science fiction, it is often described as a hypothetical iteration of the Internet as a single, universal virtual world that is facilitated by the use of  virtual and augmented reality headsets.

The idea of metaverse was born in 1992. the term "metaverse" has its origin science fiction novel Snow Crash as a portmanteau of  "meta" and "universe." Various metaverse have been developed for popular use such as virtual world platforms like second life. Some metaverse iteration involve integration between virtual and physical spaces and virtual economics.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that "the best way to understand the metaverse is to experience it yourself, but it's a little tough because it doesn't fully exist yet."

Zuckerberg described metaverse as an "even more immersive and embodied internet where you're gonna be able to do almost anything you can imagine...get together with friends and family, work, learn, play, shop, create...as well as entirely new categories that don't really fit how we think about computers or phones today."

A shared social space with avatars to represents users

On websites or social media network, you are represented by your username or thumbnail picture. In the metaverse, you're represented by a customisable avatar that can move, speak, and/or or perform animated actions.

A common space for the avatars to live like humans

Every single user will share a single virtual world, where items and property persist for everyone between online sessions.

Buying and selling virtual property as you would with physical property

This will work just like NFT's, people are using non-fungible tokens as a a decentralized way to buy of virtual goods, independent of any controlling authority or corporate server.

Creating your own virtual property

Metaverse might give you the opportunity to create your own virtual property, however allowing users to make their own metaverse content might not turn out too well for both users and metaverse makers.

3D telepresence  via VR or AR glasses

Many see this as the last step in achieving a complete metaverse state. Virtual and augmented reality will allow us to break out of our flat screens to a world where we can feel a sense of reality with other 3D avatars occupying the same location. "It'll feel like you are right in the room together making eye contact, having a shared sense of space and not just looking at a grid of faces on a screen, "as meta CEO said.
